Mushtaque told John to complete all the formalities and send the body of Shaanti Kumari for post mortem. Mushtaque then spoke with Dr. Sen.

Mushtaque: We just received the news that one of our major suspects died in mysterious circumstances.

Dr. Sen(concerned): The doll is missing and I hear someone is dead. Everything seems connected. I must go through the post mortem reports.

Mushtaque: Yes. Will certainly share the reports with you once they are out.

Dr. Sen: Okay! But, Mushtaque, this is a cryptic case. And I would suggest you consider all the angles while investigating.

Mushtaque: All the angles…..as in?

Dr. Sen: I told you earlier as well. This case cannot be solved entirely by science.

Mushtaque nodded: Hmm.

After disconnecting the call, Mushtaque went out, took long breathes of fresh air, walked for a while, brushed his hair with the tip of his fingers and looked around. This case was getting outlandish. Shaanti Kumari aka Savita could have been a pivotal witness and she was killed. What was this doll about and where did it disappear!

Mushtaque’s phone rang. It was from Dr. Sen.

Mushtaque: Yes Doctor….

Dr. Sen: The doll is back in the place where it was originally kept.

Mushtaque(confused): Are you sure? Or is it possible that it was there through out?

Dr. Sen: We have the entire CCTV footage recording everything. The doll had disappeared out of the blue and it was back here in a whiff.

Mushtaque: I am sending Abhay to check the footage.

Mushtaque called up Abhay.

Abhay: Yes Sir. I was about to call you. Ranjit Singhania is in town. I have called him to the police station for interrogation.

Mushtaque: Okay! I will take care of that. You go and meet Dr. Sen right away. He has something for us.

Ranjit Singhania came.

Mushtaque: Mr. Singhania, thanks for coming over. You know, it seems we have reached a dead end here in this case. Anyway, can you tell me, where were you all these days and despite your daughter being unwell, you couldn’t reach earlier….

Ranjit Singhania: Business trips are a part of my life. I was busy meeting my clients. The moment I heard about Ishaani, I tried to reach as soon as I could. But every time I tried to book a flight ticket, somehow the sites would go haywire. I finally went to the airport to get a ticket. Even that was a hassle. The system would crash. I then had to take a cab and come. It took me 24 hours to reach here because the car would break down.

Mushtaque: Can you share the details of your stay and your clients.

Ranjit: I can share my stay details but regarding my clients, I don’t want them to get disturbed unnecessarily.

Mushtaque: We won’t let them know that this is an investigation. It will be a casual interaction.

Ranjit: I appreciate that.

After Ranjit left, Mushtaque asked one of his team members, to check all the details that Ranjit had given.

Just then Mushtaque’s phone rang. It was from John.

Mushtaque: Yes John.

John: Sir, as per autopsy report, Shaanti Kumari died due to strangulation. However there is no mark on the neck. Hence the doctors are still confused. They are still trying to find out more.

Mushtaque: Send the reports to Dr. Sen.

John: Yes Sir.

Mushtaque hung up and went back to all the files again. He read them intensively thrice. Sighanias, Trivedis, Rathods, Mehek’ school teachers and Shaanti Kumari aka Savita. He could not connect the dots.

Amidst all these he had forgotten to check his mails. He suddenly remembered that and that’s when he saw there was a reply from the organization he had mailed to. This was the organization which Shaanti Kumari was in touch with. Mushtaque had sent a mail from a dummy email id to check what the organization was all about. If he had not received that mail, he would have gone to check that place in person. Mushtaque read the mail. The mail read:

Hello Sir/Ma’am,

We are happy to see your interest in our courses. However, we must tell you, our courses are not recognized by any specific board as yet and hence they are termed pseudo science. Nonetheless, many research done in this field has it, that this is indeed a science. All the courses in our institution are about Paranormal psychology. And to do in depth research on it, it is necessary for participants to carry out experiments to prove their theory. We would request you to be sure about your decision before you go ahead with our courses. Please check the eligibility criteria in the attachment.

Mushtaque read the mail twice. He checked the eligibility criteria. He then went back to the files and read them again. He called up Abhay.

Abhay: Yes Sir…

Mushtaque: Get the reports from Dr. Sen and also get the doll and meet me at the address I just texted you.

Abhay(quickly checking the message): This address! This is the address of that organization where Shaanti Kumari used to call……..

Mushtaque(smiling): Yes….

Abhay: And you know now who is behind all these…….

Mushtaque: Yes. Come right away!

Abhay: Yes Sir.

Mushtaque then called Sofia.

Sofia: Yes Sir.

Mushtaque: I am sending you an address. Come right there.

Sofia : Yes Sir.

Mushtaque : Tell Kadambini to be with Ishaani.

Sofia: Okay Sir!

Mushtaque smiled to himself, called up Saanchi and said, ‘Wait for some good news.’ Saanchi replied, ‘I knew you will do it. All the best.’
