After Maya was created, she was asked to do a lot of stuff by Arun. The details are there in that story. Now, we have the present day scenario and the final episode of the stories, ‘Maya’ and ‘The Malhotras’.

Arun created Maya and then he put his plan to action.

Present Day:
Arun thought, ‘It’s time for Maya to leave.’ However, he knew Maya will never go alone. She will need a soul. Whose soul would he give her? His mother was wronged. His father was wronged. Maya wreaked vengeance from all the wrong doers. Did she wreak vengeance from all the wrong doers?
Arun looked at sleeping Supriya, he patted her head and smiled mysteriously. He said to himself, ‘Maya will get one more soul.’ Saying that he walked away. Supriya pretended to be fast asleep, but she was wide awake. She was scared. She loved Arun. But, did Arun love her? Or is she a bait for Maya? What is Arun going to do? Supriya’s tummy rumbled in fear and she ran to the washroom to puke.
Arun sat alone in the living room. He knew today he had to set Maya free and a soul had to go with her. It only meant one more death in the family. Arun smiled. He knew he had to do it. He had to do it for his father and mother. No one who did them wrong should survive. No one.
Next day Arun went to meet Guruji. Supriya stealthily followed him. Supriya carefully hid herself. She had to know what was going on.
The Guruji sat on his pedestal. With folded hands Arun said, ‘Maya has to go now.’ The Guruji said, ‘Hmm.’ Arun continued, ‘She did all that I had asked her to do. She killed Sulochana, Rasika and Kasturi.’ The Guruji replied, ‘ And there is one person whose soul Maya will suck.’ Arun said, ‘ Yes. That’s the soul she will take and go away forever.’ The Guruji replied, ‘ Hmm.’ Arun continued, ‘My parents underwent a lot of pain. It’s high time they get justice.’ Guruji said, ‘When are you setting Maya free?’ Arun said, ‘ Tonight. She will take that one guilty soul along with her and go away forever.’ The Guruji said, ‘ Anita had killed Jagmohan Virani. She had poisoned him to death. Jagmohan Virani never wanted the world to know that Anita poisoned him. If anyone would have known that, Anita, the purest of all souls, would have been rebuked and punished. I am glad Jagmohan accepted that what he received was all because of his Karma’. Tears dropped from Arun’s eyes. Arun said, ‘Maa had done the right thing.’ The Guruji said, ‘ Yes son. Now, you should leave. No one should see you here.’ Arun got up and went towards the exit door. Seeing Arun about to leave, Supriya hurriedly went home.
The clock ticked away. Supriya was serving dinner. She was shivering through out. She remembered every word Arun and Guruji had said. Her entire body shivered. She became jittery. She first dropped a plate, then she dropped a serving spoon, then she dropped the vessel of curry. Arun ran to hold Supriya. He held Supriya’s hand gently and said, ‘You look tired sweetheart. Go and get some rest. I will get the mess cleaned up.’ Supriya pushed Arun gently, rubbed her head and eyes with her right hand and said, ‘ NNNo. I am fine. I I I will have dinner first and then gggo to bbbed.’ For the first time in her life, Supriya stammered. Arun was surprised. He had never seen Supriya stammering. Arun thought, it was better to let things be. Maybe Supriya is exhausted. She needed rest.
The time arrived. It was 1:00 a.m. This was the time for Maya to leave. Arun had to open the lid of the bottle where Maya was captivated. He had to tell Maya whose soul she must take with her. Once he did that, Maya would be gone forever.
Arun got the bottle. He opened the lid and told Maya to leave. Maya took the soul she was asked to take, and vanished into the thin air. Arun did not feel even the tiniest bit of remorse. Tomorrow the family will see one more dead body and that’s about it. The house will become as happy and peaceful as ever with not a single harmful soul around.
Next morning, the househelp screamed. Arun knew what the scream was for. He came running, pretending he knew nothing. The entire household was aghast. Everyone thought, now that Maya was captured in the bottle, no ill would befall in this family. What happened now? Yes, someone was dead.
The police was called. The body was sent for post mortem. The reports said it was a natural death by heart attack.
The funeral rituals were completed. A prayer ceremony was organised. Arun pretended to be shocked and hurt. Guruji came to perform the prayer ceremony. After the prayer ceremony, Arun went to the terrace, looked up in the sky and said, ‘ I have avenged all the wrongs done to you, mom and dad. Maa became a drug addict because of her sad childhood. Jagmohan Virani had killed grandma and he told everyone that Grandma had died while delivering Maa. Maa had found love in dad, when this so called ‘good’ human made all the mistakes in the files of dad, thereby giving dad the name of a corrupt employee. Dad, you were killed by Jagmohan Virani because you loved maa. Jagmohan killed you because how can his daughter marry someone Jagmohan did not like? And Amrit uncle never wanted any investigation because the post mortem reports of dad’s death said he had died due to drug overdose and Amrit uncle did not want a bad name for his son. Jagmohan added drugs in dad’s food in the party. No one knew that. Sukumar Malhotra, you knew my mom was pregnant with Sunil’s child. You knew I was Sunil’s child and not yours, yet you married my maa because of property and later on, you drugged her everyday till she was paralysed! How dare you? You slept with Sulochana every night and you pretended you cared for my maa? Serves you right. Now rot in hell with the rest. Thank you Maya for taking Sukumar, my so called father and so called ‘Good human being’s soul away by killing him’. Saying that Arun knelt down and cried loudly. Supriya came running to Arun. She had been keeping an eye on Arun through out. She heard Arun. She hugged Arun tight. Arun hid his head in her bosom and sobbed like a little baby and said, ‘I miss maa and dad Supriya. I never got to see my dad because of these evil people. I miss my parents so much…… Please don’t ever leave me Supriya. You are the only person in this world who loves me selflessly. Please don’t leave me ever.’ Supriya brushed Arun’s head. With tears flowing incessantly from her eyes, Supriya said, ‘ I love you Arun. I will never leave you. Never. Shhhh, now stop crying my love…..stop crying.’
