Maya…..Episode 1

Jagmohan Virani was a busy man. His enormous business empire called for a lot of time and commitment. At 55, he was as fit as a fiddle. Routine exercise, diet and love for self made him look superbly handsome. His huge empire had around 10000 employees. His closest employee was Amrit Singh, who was also his best friend. Amrit was not only a great friend, but also a loyal employee. Together, they had set up this huge empire. Jagmohan’s wife Lalita had passed away during child birth. Jagmohan’s only daughter Anita was apple of Jagmohan’s eyes. His daughter meant the world to him. Anita was a bashful girl. Jagmohan sent her to the best school and college hoping she will take care of his business after him. However, Anita was more engrossed in taking care of home and her dad. Amrit had two children. Sunil and Kasturi. Sunil and Kasturi joined the Virani group of Industries. Jagmohan, Anita,Amrit, Sunil, Kasturi and Amrit’s wife Sunita were closely knit with each other.

As the Virani industries expanded, Jagmohan needed more industrious people. That’s when he published ads in newspapers regarding requirement of engineers, architects and business administration professionals.

While reading the newspaper, Sukumar circled all the job vacancies. He was struggling in this new city. Sukumar had come all the way from the village to the city with his brothers Suyash and Sujay hoping to find a job and diminish hardships from their lives. Virani Industries seemed to be a wonderful venture for these three brothers.

However, Sukumar was worried if three of them went for interview together, there are chances that they might not be selected because many companies don’t hire employees from the same family. Hence, he went alone for the interview.

At the office……

Sukumar knocked at the door and said, ‘May I come in.’ Amrit said, ‘Yes please.’ Jagmohan, Amrit, Kasturi and Sunil were there in the room. With a height of 6 feet, dusky complexion, sharp features, Sukumar looked dapper in his formal attire. Sukumar sat down after Jagmohan asked him to. The interview went well. Sukumar’s intelligence won everyone’s heart. Amrit and Jagmohan were extremely happy with Sukumar’s answers. Sukumar was immediately selected for the position of the senior engineer. The package was handsome. Everyone was happy. However, the happiest of the lot was Kasturi. Sukumar was love at first sight for her.
