At the outhouse, Mushtaque looked at all the things. He asked Anurag, do you have any picture of Kashish and Kaamini? Anurag said, ‘My phone gallery is usually empty. Saanya would have.’ Mushtaque said, ‘No, don’t ask Saanya. Does Kashish have any social media account? Ideally she should have. Do you have any idea?’ Anurag said, ‘Of course she has. I had completely forgotten about it. She is there in my friend list.’ Mushtaque said, ‘Send me the link of the profile.’ The shadow had tried to overhear Mushtaque and Anurag’s conversation but seeing Mushtaque alert, the shadow left.

In the morning, Mushtaque went to the police station in the town and met some officers there. Seeing Mushtaque, one of the officers stood up immediately and greeted him. Mushtaque greeted him and said, ‘Do you have a minute?’ The officer said, ‘Of course Sir.’ The officer then took Mushtaque to a cabin. Mushtaque gave the officer Lata’s medicine bottle and said, ‘As per the label and composition details, this is an allergy medicine. However, get it tested at the lab and confirm. Let me know the reports as soon as possible.’ Saying that Mushtaque left.

Anurag was getting ready to go to office. Sumitra was surprised to see him get ready for work. Sumitra exclaimed, ‘You are going to work today? It’s your ring ceremony in the evening!’ Anurag said nonchalantly, ‘It’s in the evening. Not now. I will be back by afternoon.’ Sumitra went near Anurag, patted his cheek and said, ‘Son, I know everything is happening in a rush. But you know why this wedding is important. The debts are mounting up and Rajesh Verma will only help us after the wedding. Moreover, Tanaya loves you a lot Anurag. She is a nice girl.’ Anurag said, ‘Maa, I am getting late for work. I will be back on time. Don’t worry.’

Anurag drove to work. He was getting engaged to Tanaya today. Tomorrow Rajesh Verma will sign the deal. Kothari enterprise will be almost debt free. Almost, because, only after the wedding, Rajesh Verma will clear the rest of the debt. Anurag reached his office. Mushtaque was already there in Anurag’s room. Seeing Mushtaque, Anurag said, ‘I was about to call you. Where were you? I had searched you in the entire house.’ Mushtaque smiled and said, ‘I was working.’ Anurag replied, ‘Working? You are on holiday dude.’ Mushtaque said, ‘ A soldier is never on holiday.’ Anurag laughed and said, ‘I know.’ Mushtaque then said, ‘Anurag, I have a lot of questions. I couldn’t have asked you all those yesterday because there was someone who was following us.’ Anurag looked at Mushtaque baffled and said, ‘What are you saying! Who was following us?’ Mushtaque said, ‘I will find out soon. Even I don’t know that now. But, I don’t understand. You never told me anything about Tanaya nor about your engagement. What is going on?’ Anurag said, ‘Well, we are in huge debts Mushtaque. And only Tanaya’s dad can help us and Tanaya feels that she loves me.’ Mushtaque looked at Anurag and asked, ‘And what do you feel?’ Anurag smiled and said, ‘Well, my company will survive and Maa says Tanaya is a nice girl. I will be happy.’ While saying that, Mushtaque could feel some pain in Anurag’s voice. Mushtaque said, ‘Oh okay! Cool!’ Anurag then said, ‘Were you able to get information regarding Kashish?’ Mushtaque said, ‘You are getting engaged today Anurag. Focus on that. I will find Kashish. But, why are you so worried about Kashish. No one in the family is concerned.’ Anurag hesitated and said, ‘B…because she….she was grandma’s favourite and…..’ Mushtaque smiled and said, ‘And?’ Before Anurag could say something, his phone rang. It was from Tanaya. Anurag ignored the call, looked at Mushtaque and said earnestly, ‘Find Kashish….’ Mushtaque held Anurag’s shoulder and said, ‘I will. I promise. Now, please help me with some phone numbers. Guruji, Kaamini, Kashish, I need all of these numbers.’ Anurag asked perplexed, ‘Guruji? Why him?’ Mushtaque said, ‘Nothing specific. Just that we cops have a tendency to doubt everyone. Don’t worry. Also give me Kaamini’s village address.’

After getting the phone numbers, Mushtaque left Anurag’s office and called Abhay and said, ‘I am sending you some phone numbers. Get me all the call logs. Two of the numbers have been unreachable since long. Find out all the information and call me as soon as possible. Mushtaque then called Sofia and said, ‘I am sending you a social media profile link, find all the friends, people who comment on her posts, whom she has blocked, messages, everything.’

Tanaya was excited. Bedecked with most expensive diamond jewellery and a stunning saree, with elegant make up and not to forget happiness in her heart and soul, Tanaya looked gorgeous. She looked at herself in the mirror. She could not stop smiling. In sometime she would go downstairs and Anurag will become her fiancé officially. Anurag wore a formal suit. He tried to fix a smile on his face but his eyes still kept on looking for Kashish. If she would have been here, she would have been running errands, taking care of guests. She would have ensured her ‘Anurag Sir’ ate before the ceremony started because that’s what her Lata Grandma used to tell her. Taking care of Anurag Sir’s food was important because Anurag Sir would skip meals otherwise. Mushtaque had not yet come for the engagement, neither had Guruji come. Without Guruji the engagement can’t be solemnized.

Abhay called Mushtaque and said, ‘Sending you all the call logs and details. Please check.’ Sofia then called Mushtaque and said, ‘ I scanned her entire profile. I have sent you the details.’ Mushtaque checked all the information sent by Abhay and Sofia. Mushtaque smiled to himself and said, ‘So Mrs. Sumitra Kothari is in touch with Guruji a lot, so was Mrs. Lata. Why? Kaamini did talk to Sumitra just when the day they left.’ And there are some other numbers too from which Guruji did receive calls and the names are familiar. Mushtaque then called Abhay and said, ‘You need to do some sleuthing for me. I am sending you an address with some photographs and their names. See if you can find this lady named Kaamini and her niece Kashish.’

Guruji was on his way in his luxurious car when his phone rang. The person at the other end said, ‘Hope she is dead.’ Guruji smiled and said, ‘Yes she is. Don’t worry.’
