Subhash and Sumit came home from office very late. When they reached home, they were surprised to see everyone awake and worried. Sumedh was pacing around distressed while Aavish and Som were busy making back to back calls. Saanya was in tears and Aanya was consoling her. Naina came out of her room yawning and said, ‘Why don’t you all go to sleep? She is anyway a scamster, must be staying over at some boyfriend’s house.’ Saanya looked at Naina and said bitterly, ‘Mom, if you cannot say anything nice, at least don’t say anything harsh. Subhash ignored Naina and asked Aavish, ‘What happened? Will someone tell us something?’ Aavish replied, ‘ Kashish is missing. She is not in her room. Her phone is unreachable. We don’t even know who her friends are. Unable to reach her college teachers as well.’ Sumit gasped, ‘Where could she be?’ Urmi replied curtly, ‘As Naina Bhabi said, must be with some “friend” of hers.’ Som yelled at Urmi and said, ‘Can you stop talking nonsense? She can be in trouble.’ Tripti added, ‘Oh really? She is in trouble? She ruined our business. We are on the verge of bankruptcy and you are telling us she can be in trouble?’ Sumitra sat on the stairs and said nothing. Sumedh interrupted, ‘This is not the time to hurl abuses at anyone. Let us focus on finding Kashish now.’ Urmi said, ‘Whatever you say Sumedh Bhai Sahab, this girl Kashish has never let our family live in peace. Had she not come in Anurag’s life, Anurag would have been married to Tanaya by now and our Sanmit would not have been in jail and Sumitra Bhaabi…..look at her condition. All because of that evil girl Kashish. ’ Som snapped at Urmi and said, ‘Can you please shut up. We don’t know what situation Kashish could be in now!’

Anurag was miserable. He was driving but his mind was racing. Where could Kashish be? What condition would she be in now? Damn! Anurag banged on the steering wheel. He had never felt this helpless in his life. Something had been troubling her since long. He should not have left her alone.

Nishi told Kashish, ‘Kashish, see, you are telling me that Akshit is dead. Sooner than later the police will come here looking for you. After all, if they ask in college they would know you are my friend. See, I am not scared about being with you but Kashish you are innocent. If you hide and run from Police, they will suspect you all the more. Moreover, we don’t even have Akshit’s body to prove your innocence. Then again, you told me about the gun you touched.’ Sobbing Kashish said, ‘ I am not scared of going to the police. But the person who has been tracing me knows I am here. That person will know if I inform the police and then Anurag Sir and entire Kothari family’s reputation will be tarnished. I….I need to get away from here. Now!’ Nishi looked at Kashish and said, ‘Where the hell will you go now? I will not let you go anywhere.’ Kashish said, ‘Nishi, this is not the time to argue. I will catch a bus and go somewhere. Just help me with some money.’ Nishi held Kashish’s shoulder tightly and said, ‘Are you mad? It will only prove that you ran away. Kashish your entire life will be ruined.’ Kashish cried like a baby and said, ‘My life was always in a mess. If only I could end it. But, I can’t. Because if I do that the Kothari family will be blamed. I just need to get away from this place and this is what the person wanted me to do. Please Nishi, let me go. And don’t tell anyone that I ever came here. Please…..’ Nishi said, ‘Kashish, by leaving this place and not informing the police, you are not only going to create trouble for yourself, you will be creating trouble for me also. Police will know that you came to my house and they will also know that I helped you escape. But the point here is, you are innocent, so am I? Why should we both suffer for something we are not guilty of. I will come with you to the police station. You don’t have to go alone.’ Kashish wiped her tears and said, ‘Nishi, please for this once, let me go. Help me with some money. I will be indebted to you.’ Nishi knew there was no way she could make Kashish understand.

Mushtaque called his team and said, ‘We will need to raid that place now. Can’t wait till tomorrow. I am sure we are going to find what we are looking for.’ In 10 minutes, Mushtaque and his team was ready. With a gun tucked nicely underneath his shirt, Mushtaque was all set. They drove to the location they were given information about and that was the exact location Sara was staying at. Mushtaque just prayed that he meets this interesting lady named Sara.

Anurag reached home. He rushed inside. Everyone was surprised to see him reach home so soon. Sweating profusely and tensed to the spine, Anurag asked Aavish, ‘Any information?’ Aavish said dejectedly, ‘No Bhai!’ Anurag then asked, ‘Did you inform the police?’ Naina shrieked, ‘Police? Are you mad Anurag? If we inform the police, hell will befall on us. As if it was already not enough to send my son to jail. Now you want all of us to go to jail?’ Anurag’s eyes went blood red with anger. He looked at Naina coldly and said, ‘If something is to happen to Kashish, things will not look good in this Kothari Mansion.’

Nishi could not stop Kashish but she had to figure out a way to prove that Kashish was innocent. The only way here was to inform the police. Akshit was killed and it was imperative for his body to be found. Because that is when rest of the investigation could be done. Also what about the video and photos Kashish was talking about. Kashish is naive. Someone was deliberately putting her into trouble. Nishi knew what she could do. But she had to do this without anyone knowing about it. Nishi knew someone was tracing every step of Kashish and so that person would be following her as well. So whatever she had to do, she had to do it with caution.

The doorbell rang. A servant answered the door. Mushtaque asked, ‘ Can I meet Sara Khanna?’ The servant seemed alarmed. Mushtaque said, ‘My friend Anurag Kothari had asked me to come and meet her.’ The servant knew Anurag. He asked Mushtaque to come in and went inside to call Sara. Sara came out. She was wearing a pink satin gown. Apparently she was about to go to bed. Seeing Mushtaque, she could not take her eyes off him. Mushtaque greeted Sara with a smile and said, ‘Hi, you must be Sara Khanna?’ Sara smiled and replied, ‘Yes, I am Sara Khanna. You are?’ Mushtaque said, ‘I am Anurag’s friend Mushtaque. Anurag had to leave Shankarnagar in a hurry and since you came with him, he had asked me if I could drop you back to your hometown. I tried calling you but your number was unreachable. Since I was leaving the town now, I thought I might as well stop at your place and ask you if you would want to come with me.’ Sara said, ‘Uh, but I don’t know you.’ Mushtaque said, ‘Why don’t you call Anurag and confirm?’ Sara said, ‘Well, that won’t be necessary. I am sorry but I wouldn’t want to come with you. I will tell Anurag.’ Mushtaque smiled and said, ‘Oh okay! No problem.’ Mushtaque then said, ‘So, this is your parents’ home?’ Sara became jittery and said, ‘Y..yes.’ Mushtaque looked at Sara’s eyes. Sara could not get out of that gaze. Mushtaque then said while looking at her eyes, ‘Are….are you single?’ Sara blushed and said, ‘Yes….’ Mushtaque said, ‘Umm, this may sound rude, but such a beautiful lady like you, single?’ Sara hesitated and said, ‘When you have a toxic marriage, you have to get out of it.’ Mushtaque replied with a sigh, ‘Oh! So then why do you still write your husband’s surname?’ Sara replied immediately, ‘No! I don’t write my husband’s surname.’ Mushtaque went closer to Sara, looked into her eyes and said, ‘So then why is your surname not Makhija?’ Sara looked at Mushtaque baffled, ‘Makhija?’ Mushtaque smiled and said, ‘ You had brought Anurag here to meet your parents. And I know that here, in this house, we have the super bank scam conspirator Anand Makhija. He is very much inside the house.’ Sara froze.

Nishi covered herself with a shawl and slipped out through the backdoor. She ensured no one saw her. Although it was late, she had to go to the Kothari Mansion. She had to tell Anurag all that Kashish had been going through. Nishi reached the mansion and looked for a way to get inside the house and meet Anurag. She looked around. There were security guards around. She went to the rear gate. Suddenly she saw someone coming out. She thought she would go and tell the person everything. Nishi rushed to the person and said, ‘Please let me meet Anurag Sir, it’s urgent.’ The person said, ‘Why so?’ Nishi said, ‘This is about my friend Kashish and Anurag. They are both in trouble. Please help them.’ The person said concerned, ‘Please come with me.’ Nishi followed that person. Suddenly Nishi felt a big blow on her head and then there was darkness all around.
