Anurag saw Aavish and asked concerned, ‘Where were you?’ Aavish hesitated and said, ‘Bhai, I had gone to have some water.’ The living room was almost empty. Only Anurag was there Dviti, Saanya and Aanya. Everyone else had retired to their respective rooms. Aavish asked Anurag, ‘Did Mushtaque call you?’ Anurag moved his head dejectedly and said, ‘No, not yet. I wish he had called.’ Aavish wanted to tell Anurag that Mushtaque had called but then he thought if he told that, the person who had attacked Nishi would be aware of it. So it’s better he kept quiet.

However, when Aavish had asked Anurag about Mushtaque, someone in the mansion heard that. ‘Damn! So they involved Mushtaque here! Now there is no way the truth won’t be out. If I sneak out, maybe I can call Sara and my man at the bus station. At least they will be aware of this mess. I should have informed the local police here when Kashish disappeared. That way Mushtaque wouldn’t have been involved. I hope he has not started thorough investigation as yet. Damn it! If the investigation has already started, I am doomed. I should have got that Akshit killed. Now if this Akshit is caught. He is going to blurt out everything. Drat! I had no intention of killing anyone, but looks like I will have to get this Akshit killed and then that pesky girl in the store room.’ The person looked around to get out of the Kothari mansion.

Suddenly the people in the living room heard some screeching sounds of cars in porch. Anurag and Aavish rushed out. It was Mushtaque with two officers of his. Anurag asked in an anxious tone, ‘Mushtaque, bro, any information about Kashish? Were you able to trace her?’ Mushtaque said, ‘Can you please call all your family members here in this living room? It’s urgent.’ Anurag’s heart skipped a beat. He looked at Mushtaque’s eyes and asked petrified, ‘Is Kashish Okay?’ Mushtaque’s eyes twinkled. Anurag knew the twinkle in Mushtaque’s eyes. He knew Kashish was safe. Anurag knew when Mushtaque said something, it was always wise to listen and follow.

Latika and Santosh went on to call everyone. One by one all of them arrived. Latika and Santosh said that some of them were fast asleep. They had knocked on the door, yet no answer. Mushtaque smiled to himself and said nothing. He looked around. He was right. The suspect was not around. The others might be sleeping and that’s fine. They would join soon.

There were more noises outside. Everyone looked at the entrance door. Anurag could not stop looking. Kashish was there with some officers. Her face was stained with soot and tears, her dress was smeared with blood which she had covered with a scarf. Her hair in a messy bun, her under eyes black and her eyes red. Seeing her, Anurag walked up to her. Kashish kept on looking at him while Anurag could not stop himself from wrapping her in his arms. Kashish’s fragile body felt the warmth and love of Anurag. She hid herself in his chest and whimpered. Anurag, brushed her head and said in his baritone voice, ‘Where had you been? Do you know how painful it is for me to live without you? Why did you do this to me Kashish? Tell me.’ Kashish cried till her tears drenched Anurag’s shirt. Mushtaque looked at Kashish and Anurag and said, ‘Kashish will now tell us all about it.’ Kashish gently moved away from Anurag and looked at Mushtaque. Mushtaque could still feel the fear lurking in Kashish’s eyes. Mushtaque looked at Kashish with gentle eyes and said, ‘Come on Kashish. Tell us all about it. Everything… Okay?’ Kashish knew that with Mushtaque around she could tell the truth. Even if she was framed for Akshit’s death, it was okay. At least Anurag’s pics and videos won’t go viral. Kashish wiped her tears and said, ‘Someone had sent me some….some….’ ‘Some what? Mushtaque asked?’ Kashish groped for words and said, ‘Someone had sent some profane….filthy…..pics and a video of Anurag Sir. I was threatened that if I don’t go away from his life, those will be published in social media.’ Anurag listened to Kashish shocked. Mushtaque then asked Kashish, ‘And then?’ Kashish paused and said, ‘And then……I distanced myself from Anurag Sir and that day when I reached college early….on the pretext of having breakfast……my classmate Akshit took me to a restaurant……’ Just then Naina interrupted sarcastically, ‘See, I told you. She was there with some boyfriend of hers. I was right.’ Anurag looked at Naina sternly with his blood shot red eyes and said, ‘If you utter one more word, I will forget that you are my aunt.’ Naina could feel the wrath in Anurag’s eyes. She immediately went quiet. Mushtaque loved it. Mushtaque looked at Kashish again and said, ‘Kashish, and then what happened?’ Kashish recalled the entire horrific incident. Tears welled up in her eyes. She started crying. Anurag hugged her and said, ‘Shhhh…. we are here….tell us what happened.’ Kashish said, ‘We were offered some drinks in the restaurant and then I don’t know what happened. Everything went dark. When I woke up……Akshit….’ Saying that Kashish wailed….. ‘Akshit was dead…..and I was told….I killed him……’ Saying that Kashish sat on the floor and sobbed. Mushtaque told Saanya, ‘Could you please get a glass of water for Kashish?’ Mushtaque then told Kashish, ‘And then?’ Kashish said whimpering, ‘And then I was asked to leave this town or else…..’ Mushtaque added, ‘Or else what?’ Kashish said, ‘Or else, Anurag Sir’s pictures and video will be made viral.’ Saying that Kashish sobbed again. Mushtaque said, ‘Awesome!’ Mushtaque took out his phone and called someone. Mushtaque said, ‘Are you guys here as yet?…. Okay. Come soon.’ Mushtaque looked at Anurag and said, ‘So this is the story. Kashish was blackmailed for some pictures and a video of yours. And do you know who did that?’ Anurag looked at Mushtaque perplexed and said, ‘Why would someone do that?’ Mushtaque laughed and said, ‘Well, ask that person why she did that?’ Saying that Mushtaque looked at the entrance door. The officers had brought Sara. Anurag was baffled. Mushtaque told Anurag, ‘Ask Sara why she made that video and clicked profane pictures of you and her and made a filthy video?’ Anurag was aghast. Looking at Sara, Anurag said, ‘You did that Sara? When? Why?’ Sara cried and said, ‘I did that to save my job Anurag…..I was threatened and I was promised a lot of money….. I don’t have any child…..everything was a part of a plan to lure you away from Kashish. That day when you had to stay over at my place, I did all of it…. I was asked to do it.’ Anurag looked at Sara with cold eyes and said, ‘Where are the pics and video?’ Mushtaque smiled and said, ‘She does not have it anymore. Rather no one has it now except for the master brain who contrived the entire plan.’ Everyone looked at Mushtaque awed. Anurag asked, ‘Who is it?’ Mushtaque said, ‘Well, let Akshit come too.’ Kashish was stunned. She froze when she saw Akshit. Mushtaque looked at Kashish and said, ‘There you are. The dead Akshit is here.’ Looking at Akshit, Mushtaque said, ‘Now my boy, tell us why you did all of this?’ Akshit shivered. Mushtaque came closer to Akshit, patted his cheek and said, ‘Come on sweetu, tell us.’ Akshit was petrified to the core. If Mushtaque slapped him, it will not be pleasant. Akshit said, ‘I…..I did this for money and…..’ Anurag listened to Akshit. Akshit could feel the anger in Anurag’s eyes. Anurag looked at Akshit and asked coldly, ‘And what?’ Akshit tried to step behind. However, the cops did not let him budge. Akshit said, ‘I….wanted Ka…Ka…Kashish.’ Anurag rushed to Akshit and ‘WHAMMM!’ punched on his face. Akshit fell down with blood dripping from his nose. Anurag then bent down to pull Akshit and punch him again, but Mushtaque stopped him and said, ‘Buddy! He is just a pawn. Ask him, who paid him? Rather, ask Sara. Or, let’s call Nishi.’ Hearing Nishi’s name, Kashish was surprised, ‘Nishi is here? How?’ Mushtaque told Aavish, ‘Go get Nishi.’ Aavish went to get Nishi. Mushtaque looked at Anurag, Kashish, Naina, Som and then the rest of the people standing there and said, ‘Nishi was trapped by the mastermind because she had come here to inform Anurag about Kashish.’

Aavish brought Nishi. Seeing Kashish safe Nishi could not control her tears of joy. She rushed to Kashish and hugged her. Kashish hugged Nishi tight and said, ‘What will I do without you my friend. Who does this in today’s era! You are a gem.’ Nishi smiled with tears in her eyes, patted Kashish’s cheeks and said, ‘I had told you. You should have told Anurag Sir all about it. All of this wouldn’t have happened then.’ Kashish said, ‘But those pictures and video….’ Mushtaque added, ‘Nothing would have happened Kashish. You should have told Anurag all about it. You were an easy target because you are so simple.’ Nishi looked at Akshit with rage, went to him and ‘THWAKKKK’, slapped him tight. She then said bitterly, ‘You are such a monster Akshit. How could you do this to your friend. Shame on you.’

Aavish asked, ‘But who is the mastermind here?’ Mushtaque looked at Nishi and said, ‘Well Nishi you had seen the person right? Is that person here?’ Nishi looked around and said, ‘No! Not here.’ Mushtaque said, ‘Well, Sara and Akshit can tell but I want Nishi to describe how the person looks like?’ Nishi said, ‘Well, the person is very good looking. The eyes……’ Nishi looked around. She saw Aanya. See observed Aanya closely and pointing to her, said, ‘The eyes are so much like her.’ Everyone in the room was stunned. Nishi then looked at Anurag and said, ‘Well, features are so much like Anurag Sir.’ She then looked at Aavish and pointing to him, said, ‘And complexion is just like him.’

Everyone listened to Nishi and froze. Who looked so much like the people Nishi mentioned.

Mushtaque looked at one of his officers and said, ‘Well someone tried to sneak out and we all know that. Get that person.’
